Frontier justice aka vigilante justice or street justice

  • A punishment that motivated by the nonexistence of law and order or dissatisfaction with justice
  • Used to describe gunfighting in an act of revenge
  • To exact swift retribution without regard to laws or authority
  • To take justice in ones own hands and side step judicial practice, either because of vendetta or because one feels the law and justice system has failed or cannot exact an satisfactory punishment
